Paros Island presents an appealing option for couples on a budget. Unlike some of its Cyclades counterparts like Ios Island, Paros boasts an airport, making it more accessible. Flights often involve layovers in Athens and connections to Paros, which can be significantly cheaper than Santorini depending on the time of year you visit. The island’s port also facilitates ferry connections with other Greek Islands or arrivals from elsewhere.
However, what truly sets Paros apart is its reliable public transportation system. During our stay, we took the bus daily for a mere few euros, and the schedule was easily accessible at the Paros bus station. The ease of navigating the bus system allowed us to explore the island without worrying about driving. Another significant advantage of Paros is the simplicity and affordability of renting an ATV.
We paid €50 for 24 hours of adventure, which we split between the two of us, making it an even more budget-friendly option. Without the need to drive, we were free to enjoy the island’s attractions while relaxing in each other’s company. Compared to beaches in Italy and similar ones in Milos, Paros’ beaches offer a unique advantage: they’re completely free to access. The bus drops you off just minutes from the beach, allowing for an easy walk to find a spot without any additional fees.
For those seeking extra comfort, sunbed rentals are available for around €10 per day. However, visitors can still enjoy the beach without renting these amenities.
How to get to the best Paros beaches
There are multiple ways to access Paros’ best beaches, including buses and renting ATVs, scooters, buggies, or cars. While the bus is a convenient option, it doesn’t cover all beaches on the island, such as Kolymbithres beach, which requires a boat shuttle from Naoussa. The boat shuttles may not operate due to weather conditions, leaving visitors with limited options. We chose to rent an ATV to visit more beaches than what was accessible by bus.
Similarly, you can also rent scooters or buggies in Parikia Village or Naoussa Village. Car rental is another option, as most beaches have a small free carpark. However, booking in advance is recommended during peak season due to limited car availability. In our experience, driving on the island was very safe, even at night, with well-maintained roads and decent driving skills from locals.
Some beaches are also accessible by walking, such as Parikia’s beach, located just a few minutes away from its windmill. It’s an insider tip to reserve one day of your trip to rent a vehicle and visit those beautiful remote beaches.

Golden Beach, affectionately known as Chrissi Akti, lives up to its name with a breathtaking combination of beige fine sand and crystal-clear waters. This stunning destination on Paros’ east coast is easily accessible by car or bus from Parikia and Naoussa. What sets Golden Beach apart are the ample opportunities for relaxation. While you can rent sunbeds, there’s plenty of room to spread out without feeling crowded.
Water sports enthusiasts will find a range of activities available, including tubes, wakeboarding, and waterskiing, with prices starting at 20€ and topping out at 40€ depending on the number of participants and activity duration.
Despite the windy conditions during my visit, I was pleasantly surprised to find the water calmer than expected. Facilities on the beach include restaurants and washrooms, making it easy to enjoy a day in the sun.
For snorkeling or photography, head to the beach’s northern end where you’ll discover an ideal spot for capturing stunning photos – especially during golden hour.
Logaras Beach
Logaras Beach, located just before Golden Beach in Paros, Greece, is a smaller but highly-regarded coastal spot. Despite its compact size, it boasts the same striking features as its more prominent neighbor: fine sand and crystal-clear waters. Accessible via car (with free parking) or bus (which drops you off right at the beach), this picturesque destination offers convenient options for visitors with children or mobility concerns.
To make the most of your visit, consider bringing water shoes, as some areas may feature pebbles or small rocks. Additionally, take advantage of the on-site massage services offered by a couple who frequently stroll along the shoreline. For our group, two 20-minute massages cost just €35, a steal compared to the standard rate. Don’t hesitate to negotiate – it never hurts to ask!
A restaurant can be found on the premises, offering a range of culinary options, as well as public washrooms for added convenience.
Punda Beach
Punda beach, situated near Golden Beach and a popular beach club, embodies the essence of Paros’ nightlife. By day, it’s an idyllic retreat; by night, it transforms into a vibrant party scene. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Golden Beach, with stunning scenery all around. Here are some essential details to keep in mind:A convenient parking lot and bus service from one of the main towns make accessing Punda beach easy.
However, if you’re arriving by bus, be prepared for a 5-minute walk downhill (and an uphill trek on your return journey). Upon arrival, you’ll likely encounter staff from the beach club who may initially inform you that the beach is private and require you to rent sunbeds for €40 – a price significantly higher than what’s offered at other beaches.
It’s essential to understand that this claim only applies to the area surrounding their facilities; the remainder of the beach is public, featuring shaded areas beneath trees. To avoid the expense, consider bringing an umbrella. Venturing to the public side of the beach will not only reduce the noise level from the music but also create a more peaceful atmosphere.
For those who appreciate beach clubs, Punda beach offers a unique experience, complete with sunbeds, refreshments, food, and lively tunes.
Kolymbithres Beach, the best beach in Paros for a unique scenery
Kolymbithres beach on Paros is a stunning gem, reminiscent of the Lavezzi Islands in Corsica. As one of Paros’ best beaches, it’s a must-visit destination. While popular among tourists, the area remains relatively uncrowded due to its remote location – buses don’t reach this far. Here, you’ll find amenities such as sunbeds and restaurants, albeit tucked away from the main beach. Ample parking space is also available.
As we explored Paros without renting a car, we relied on public transportation to access beaches. However, some beaches require a bit more effort to reach. One way to get to Kolymbithres beach is by taking the bus from Parikia to Naoussa and then hopping onto a taxi boat. Be aware that strong winds may render this option unavailable – unfortunately, that’s what happened during our visit. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, consider renting a quad or ATV to reach the beach.
With a valid driver’s license, you’ll be able to navigate the terrain with ease and safety. This mode of transportation allowed us to explore beaches not accessible by bus, including those in Naoussa Bay. These hidden gems are definitely worth a visit!
Monastiri Beach
Monastiri beach, nestled near the monastery of Agios Ioannis, is a hidden gem within Paros Park, accessible to all via its free entrance. We had a fantastic experience at this picturesque beach, situated in the northern part of Naoussa Bay. If you’re traveling by ATV or car, Monastiri is easily accessible; alternatively, take the bus to Naoussa and then a taxi boat to arrive. For those who prefer not to drive, hop on the bus to Kolymbithres and enjoy a leisurely 30-minute hike.
A notable aspect of this beach is its dual identity – it comprises two distinct shores. The first, located near the entrance, stretches for quite some distance with no sunbeds in sight. Visitors can park remarkably close, making it an ideal option for those with mobility concerns. In contrast, the second beach lies further down and requires entry into the ‘port’, where a parking lot awaits.
Although we visited during peak hours and found this section bustling with activity, it’s replete with sunbeds. I opted to explore both beaches but ultimately chose to linger at the first, savoring its tranquil atmosphere.
Perikopetra beach and Turkou Ammos beach
Both Perikopetra beach and Turkou Ammos beach, situated within Paros Park, offer serene retreats that are just a stone’s throw away from the bustling atmosphere of Monastiri beach. While they may not boast the same level of activity as their neighbour, they make up for it with equally breathtaking vistas and a tranquil ambiance that beckons visitors to unwind and soak up the natural beauty of the area.
Santa Maria Beach, one of the best beaches in Paros for a drink
As we wrapped up our day, we headed to Santa Maria beach in Paros, eager to experience its beauty. Stretching further than the other beaches we’d visited, this stunning coastline boasts an abundance of sunbeds, restaurants, and activities galore. The atmosphere is decidedly more vibrant and touristy, with several beach clubs adding to the lively ambiance. If you’re looking to cap off a night out in Paros, Santa Maria Beach is an excellent spot to enjoy a drink as the sun dips below the horizon.
Getting there was relatively straightforward; we assumed it would be accessible by bus, but I opted for the ATV instead. Upon arrival, we noticed that certain sections of the beach offered ample space to relax without feeling pressured to rent a sunbed. We took advantage of this and treated ourselves to a leisurely drink and brief respite as the sun began its descent.
While our visit was enjoyable, I wouldn’t necessarily rank Santa Maria Beach as my top choice.
The crowds and busier restaurants were noticeable, but it’s still an excellent spot to unwind and take in the scenery.
Antiparos Beaches
Located on the picturesque Antiparos island, accessing these beaches requires a ferry ride from Parikia or a bus trip down to Pounda followed by a ferry crossing. While there are several beaches scattered across the island, we opted to base ourselves in the northern part. Initially, we ventured to the other side of the island only to discover a beach that didn’t quite live up to our expectations – it was littered with plastic debris and featured strong waves.
After a 20-minute turnaround, we decided to try our luck at the port beach. As we strolled along the charming port, the atmosphere grew even more idyllic as we turned right and spotted the sandy shore. We found shade beneath the trees and were delighted by the crystal-clear waters, which remained shallow for quite some distance – you could walk a kilometre and still have water up to your knees at its deepest point!
This beach proved an absolute haven for kids, sheltered from the wind and boasting a manageable length. We enjoyed simply wading in the water and chatting, appreciating the laid-back atmosphere.
Livadia beach
While most visitors flock to the beach or explore the island during the day, Parikia’s Livadia beach remains tranquil. For those staying in the nearby village, this picturesque stretch of sand is just a short walk away. Take advantage of the opportunity to indulge in a leisurely stroll along the seafront promenade and through the charming village streets as the afternoon wears on. As the temperature cools, you’ll find that Parikia has much more to offer than just its stunning beaches.
Parikia’s beach
Just a stone’s throw from Alexandros Café, Parikia’s picturesque beach is nestled beside a historic windmill, offering breathtaking views of the village’s white-washed houses and the iconic landmark above. A short stroll from Anna Parikia’s studios, where we had the pleasure of staying during our week-long sojourn on Paros, this idyllic spot is perfect for unwinding and taking in the scenery while you recharge and get your bearings.
To enhance your experience, consider renting a sunbed from a local eatery for around €10, complete with a refreshing drink to toast your tranquility. We spent a leisurely few hours soaking up the atmosphere on our first day, and it proved the perfect way to ease into island life.
Kalogeros beach, one of Paros best beaches for a spa treatment
Kalogeros beach, nestled on Paros’ East coast, is a hidden gem that boasts stunning natural beauty and unique characteristics. The shoreline is composed of sand and pebbles, providing a tranquil atmosphere. Its location also shields it from the wind, making it an ideal destination for visitors seeking respite from inclement weather. The beach’s rugged landscape features a prominent rock formation, which holds another secret: healing mud.
Locals often collect small chunks of this natural resource, mix it with seawater, and apply it to their skin. After drying, they rinse it off in the ocean, essentially treating themselves to a free spa experience. What sets Kalogeros apart from other beaches is its laid-back atmosphere, unencumbered by commercial establishments like restaurants or bars. This lack of development contributes to its charm, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in nature.
To reach Kalogeros, take the bus to Marmara, Marpissa, or Pisa Livadi, then embark on a 30-minute walk towards the beach. While this route is manageable during spring or shoulder season, we caution against it during summer due to the lack of shade and potential risk of heat exhaustion. Instead, consider renting an ATV or buggy for a more comfortable and enjoyable journey.
Molos beach
A tranquil retreat awaits just 5 minutes north of Kalogeros beach at Molos. This secluded and unspoiled gem is an ideal haven for couples seeking seclusion and serenity. The crystal-clear waters invite snorkelling excursions, while the picturesque mountain vistas provide a stunning backdrop. As you stroll along the shoreline, you’ll discover a traditional seafood tavern on the southern end, perfect for a romantic lunch or a picnic with your loved one.

Faragas Beach, located on the southern tip of Paros Island, boasts not only golden sands but also exceptional protection from the wind. The beach is divided into three distinct sections: one in the center with an organized beach bar and sunbeds, while the two flanking beaches remain peaceful and unspoiled. A prominent rock formation off the coast offers a snorkeler’s paradise.
What sets Faragas apart as one of Paros’ top beaches is its flexibility – you can opt for a refreshing cocktail at the beach club or find a secluded spot to soak up the sun, only to change your plans mid-day with ease.
Parasporos beach
Located just 9 minutes away from Parikia, Parasporos beach offers a tranquil atmosphere with gentle waves lapping against its sandy shores. What sets it apart from other beaches in Paros is its lively vibe, courtesy of two beach clubs that host all-day music events and organize beach parties. While it may not be the best choice for those seeking solitude, it’s an ideal spot for those looking to soak up the sun while enjoying a refreshing drink or taking part in a fun-filled party atmosphere.
Glyfa beach, one of Paros best beaches for a quiet time
Tucked away from the crowds, Glyfa beach offers a serene and peaceful retreat. The shoreline is characterized by a unique blend of pebbles and sand, while the crystal-clear waters provide an unobstructed view into the depths below. A lush canopy of trees supplies ample shade, making it an ideal spot to escape the sun without needing to lug around your own umbrella.
However, travelers should be prepared to bring their own provisions as there are no facilities on site, including food and drink vendors.
Piso Livadi beach

While swimming is a popular activity at Piperi Beach, visitors should be aware that strong winds can make it less than ideal; on such days, alternative beaches like Piperaki and Agii Anargyri might be more appealing options.

The road leading to Laggeri Beach is not well-maintained, so driving there may be challenging.
An alternative option is to park at the nearby white church and rent an ATV or take a taxi boat from Naoussa. However, please note that the taxi boats’ operation can be affected by weather conditions and are not always available. As this beach lacks organized amenities, it’s recommended to bring your own food and drinks.
Agia Irini beach
Located on Paros’ West coast, Agia Irini beach, also known as Palm beach due to its lush palm tree-lined lane, offers a serene escape from the wind. The narrow and sheltered beach is protected by natural barriers on either side, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere. While some sunscreen is available on the island, the selection may be limited compared to what you’re used to in Ireland or Canada. If you have specific needs or preferences, it’s best to bring enough for your trip.

Bring plenty of water as well, regardless of whether the beach is organized or not. A reusable bag can be useful for collecting waste and bringing it back home with you. For those interested in exploring the underwater world, a snorkeling mask and tube are must-haves.
Finally, consider investing in an umbrella to save money on sunbed rentals and enjoy some shade when needed. We found that buying our own umbrella for €10 was a great way to stay comfortable without breaking the bank.
